Privacy Policy
Last updated 7 September 2026. The short version: your texts stay on your device, nothing you say is ever recorded, and we do not sell anything to anyone.
Your texts stay on your device
Everything you paste into Speakbound — your speeches, titles, sections and practice history — is stored locally on your device. It is not uploaded to us.
If you turn on cloud sync, a copy of your texts is stored so it can reach your other devices. Sync is off by default and you choose whether to enable it. Your practice sessions and scores are never synced; they stay on the device that created them.
Nothing you say is recorded
When you recite, Speakbound uses your device's speech recognition to turn what you say into text so it can be compared with your script. No audio recording is created, stored, or transmitted. The recognized text is used to score you and is not sent to us.
Analytics
We use Firebase Analytics to understand which features are used — for example, how many people finish a study session. These events contain no text, titles, or transcripts. Numbers such as word counts and accuracy are recorded only as broad ranges, never exact values, so they cannot be traced back to you or your content.
What we never do
- We do not show ads and we include no advertising SDKs.
- We do not use advertising identifiers and we do not track you across other apps.
- We do not sell or share your data with data brokers.
Identifiers and purchases
Speakbound creates an anonymous identifier for your device so your settings and any purchase can be recognised. It is not linked to your name or email unless you choose to link a sign-in method for sync. Purchases are processed by Apple and Google; we receive confirmation that a purchase is valid, not your payment details.
Children
Speakbound is rated for general audiences and is not directed at children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children.
Deleting your data
Open Speakbound, go to Settings → Delete all my data. This permanently removes every text, section and practice session from your device, and any synced copy. It cannot be undone.

Your rights
Depending on where you live, you may have rights to access, correct, or delete personal data we hold. Because Speakbound stores your content on your device and collects only anonymous analytics, in most cases deleting the app removes everything. Contact us if you need anything more.
Changes
If we change this policy we will update the date above and, for material changes, tell you in the app.
